The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has just release ANOTHER recall for Kirkland and Costco Canada !

This time packages of Kirkland Signature Grilled Chicken Breast Strips are being recalled over a possible Listeria contamination.


Recalled Product:
Kirkland Signature brand Grilled Chicken Breast Strips sold in double packs of 500g each with best before dates between April 13 and April 26. With the UPC code is 0 96619 70787 4.

The recalled products were sold in the following provinces, but may be in other provinces:

  • Quebec
  • Ontario
  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • Newfoundland and Labrador

What to do if you have the affected product in your home

Health Canada is asking anyone who has the product in their home to either throw it out, or return it to the story it was purchased at.


What is Listeria Monocytogenes

Listeria monocytogenes does not affect the appearance, smell or taste of  they food contaminates, but can make you very sick, and my even cause death in some cases.

Listeria Monocytogenes Symptoms

  • vomiting
  • nausea
  • persistent fever
  • muscle aches
  • severe headache
  • neck stiffness

Women who are pregnant, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems are at a much higher risk of serious complications. Infected women who are pregnant may experience mild, flu-like symptoms, however the infection may lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even miscarriages and stillbirths. In severe cases, people may die.

We have ANOTHER food recall to warn you about.

Costco is recalling almost 60,000 cases of Kirkland Sliced Fruit due to a possible salmonella contamination.

Recalled Product

The recalled Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit is sold in a red and white case containing 20 pouches of freeze-dried fruit in various assortments.

Best Before Date: FEB 14 2015 – MAR 11 2015 (which reads FEB142015 – MAR112015)


What to do if you have the recalled product

Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are being asked to return it to Costco, for a full refund. DO NOT EAT THE RECALLED FRUIT.


About Salmonella 

Salmonella is a bacteria, that when consumed causes gastrointestinal infection. Symptoms usually last four to seven days, and my require hospitalization. In sever cases, usually affecting those with low immune systems, very young children, the elderly and expectant mothers, salmonella may cause death.

Symptoms include The symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, headache, fever, and severe watery diarrhea.
