Lilydale Chicken Recalled Due to Listeria Contamination!

Lilydale and Health Canada have issued an urgent recall on Lilydale brand oven roasted carved chicken breast, due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination!

Product details:

  • Lilydale Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast 400g Best before APRIL 28, 2015 with UPC 0 65843 83104 4
  • Oven Roasted Carved Chicken Breast 400g Best Before dates up to and including 2015 AL 28 with UPC 0 65843 83104 4
  • Oven Roasted Carved Turkey Breast 400g Best Before dates up to and including 2015 AL 10 with UPC 0 65843 83210 2

The affected products were sold in the following Canadian provinces:

  • Alberta
  • British Columbia
  • Manitoba
  • Ontario
  • Saskatchewan

Listeria is a potentially deadly bacteria. If you have the affected product DO NOT CONSUME, either safely discard it or return it to the store it was purchased at for a full refund.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are, particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die.
