On October 2, 2018 – Loblaw Companies Limited has issued a Recall on:

No Name brand $10 Chicken Fries recalled due to Salmonella.

If you have the recalled product, you are being asked to not consume this product and return it to the place it was purchased, for a refund.

Reason for Recall:
  • possible Salmonella contamination, which may cause illness

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

Background:

This recall was triggered by findings by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.

The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.

Loblaws Quebec(sold at Loblaws Longueuil, 1150 rue King-George, Longueuil, Quebec.) is recalling it’s store made Spaghetti Sauce due to PIECES OF GLASS!!

For now this is the only store affected…HOWEVER this may lead to the recall of other products

Anyone who purchased this product should NOT CONSUME!! Throw out the product or return to your local store.

Product Being Recalled – Everyday Essential Glass Mugs

Reason For Recall – They could shatter when filled with hot liquid

Items affected at the 15 ounce bowl mugs and 14 ounce tapered mugs.

Stores that carry the recalled products include;

  • Atlantic Superstore
  • Dominion
  • Save Easy

There have been one report of someone suffering an injury as a result of the glass shattering in these products.

If you or someone you know might have purchased the Everyday Essential Mug between Aug. 7 and Sept. 18, DO NOT USE!!
