We’re all in this together! We truly are! It doesn’t matter where you live or what country your from, but this Virus is going to change our lives for a very long time. It’s not going to be a two week of hurting. For many of us Canadians, it’s going to hurt us badly for years to come.
I’m not going to get political on this blog and will keep my opinions to myself – I don’t want to escalate the panic that is happening, but at the same time, I want to warn people that our economy is going to suffer for a long time ( Years)
There is a lot of bad things going on in Canada. Oil is down to less than a cup of coffee (It’s never seen that low of a price not even in the 1980s. )
I want to Scream – Be Careful with your Spending
We as the People can’t control most of what is going on in the world! And many people are somewhat panicked about the future.
Well, to some degree. Rent/ Morgage/ Payments we are all at the mercy of our bank lenders when it is going to come to interest rates increasing ( for sure in the next few years )
And for many Canadians right now, there is an expected 20% unemployment rate forecasted.
We also need the Essential Electricity, Heat, Water, Sewer – There are ways to cut down on these as well, but we won’t go there in this article.
Non-Essential Bill Cutting
Go Through Your last few month’s bank statements ( Look online through your bank) and see where you can cut back on bills.
Cut Your Cell Phone Data package, or go online and pick a smaller data plan.
Cut your Insurance Back – Maybe don’t be worth a 1 Million dollars if you die, etc., everyone’s bills are different, but we can look at Insurance to trim because it’s a luxury to have it
Cut the TV Cable or Choose to Cut off TV Substitutes such as Netflix
Maybe cut off Amazon Prime ( You can live without two days shipping) Unless you use this service to its full ability such as Amazon Prime TV, Photo Storage, etc.,
Cut off any Subscriptions you have online – Like Apps that you pay for Etc: Adobe Photoshop, Youtube Paid Account, etc.
Take a look at your credit card statement and make sure you aren’t spending money foolishly, like an example, Gaming with your phone.
Grow a Minature Garden
We are all at home now. Now is the time to plant some seeds. Even if you live in an apartment, you can have a little herb garden or a few planters filled with chives. But if you do have a Yard – Use the space to feed your family.
Don’t Join an “Affiliate Program.”
Now is not the time to get into any Multi-Level Network Businesses. The New term Multi-Level Marketing companies are using the word “Affiliate Program.” Don’t’ fall for it – It’s still Multi-Level Marketing. If you have to join a conference call to get Sold into the business – Don’t enter. It’s not the time to convince others to throw money at an opportunity that only a maximum of 10% can succeed.
Do Freelancing If Possible.
If you find your self – unemployed, consider freelancing opportunities if you can. But if you have a great skill such as Baking, Writing, or perhaps you have a Counselling Course you have taken or have a University degree you have not used. Take a Look at Fiver, Upwork, and see if you can do any of these skills they are selling.
Save on Groceries
I know we are all social distancing and avoiding spending time in Grocery Stores, and we are most likely not using “Coupons” as its more touching and time-consuming.
I was attempting to help Canadians save money on groceries via Amazon to help people do the social Distancing via Amazon Grocery Deals Blog post daily – but I am finding 90% of the food deals have super long waiting times ( 4-6 weeks) these days.
StockPile Without Hoarding
I know right now the grocery store shelves are Empty due to Hoarding and people panicking. So I don’t suggest Stock Piling while we are all on “Social Distancing.” But we need to start stockpiling non-perishable goods when the right opportunity presents itself.
If Coffee Grounds are on sale for $6.99 – Purchase 2 instead of 1. You don’t have to stockpile big and buy 12 of them. Just buy a little extra when the opportunity presents itself.
If you have a Printer – Print out our Grocery List to help you keep track of what to buy the next time you shop.
We all just need to get through this! We just need to remember to be kind and thoughtful of everyone around us.
Stay Safe Everyone!
