    History of HP Printers

    The story of the HP printer began in 1984 when Hewlett-Packard released its first inkjet printer for consumers. The printer was called the ThinkJet —quite expensive at the time! Despite its high price tag, it still sold well due to its quality output and reliability. This was followed shortly after that by the DeskJet line of inkjet printers, quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular in Canada.

    In 1988, Hewlett-Packard released its first laser printer—the LaserJet III. It was an instant hit with consumers thanks to its sharp output, fast printing speeds, low cost per page and relatively low price tag (at least compared to other laser printers on the market then). With this release, HP solidified itself as one of the top brands for printing solutions.

    Today, HP offers a wide range of products for both home and business use. From simple inkjet models to all-in-one machines with built-in scanners and fax machines, there’s something for everyone, from novice users to professional print shops. In addition to hardware solutions, HP also offers software solutions such as Cloud Print and ePrint that allow you to easily print documents from anywhere in the world using your mobile device or computer.
