    Old El Paso is an American brand related to Mexican-style foods, such as sauces, dinner kits, rice, refried beans, condiments, tacos and tortillas.

    Old El Paso products are sold all over the world. General Mills currently owns it. Pillsbury purchased it in 1995. The brand name references the city of El Paso, Texas. General Mills has adopted the style of this product line in the Wanchai Ferry Chinese Food range.

    The Mountain Pass Canning Company in New Mexico was acquired from a local company in El Paso, Texas 1917. The Old El Paso started the business by selling canned tomatoes and pinto beans. The company was officially founded in the United States in 1938. The company moved into many cities throughout the US before settling in Texas in 1958. In the 1960s, it became one of the first companies offering a full line of Mexican dishes and advertising Mexican cuisine to American consumers.
