The History of Dr.Oetker
Dr. August Oetker (a pharmacist), Started the company “Dr. Oetker” in Bielefeld, Germany, in 1891. In 1893, he introduced his first product called “Dr. Oetker Backin” (sic).
His idea was to fill paper bags with exactly the right amount of baking powder for one pound of flour. With the high quality of the raw materials and the perfect ratio of active ingredients, he was able to “guarantee housewives the perfect baking results every time” (wow, did that ever sound sexist, with my attitude and mouth, I would never have made it, had I been born 100 yrs earlier).
This idea leads to a huge baking boom. And started the foundation for a major business enterprise for the brand “Dr. Oetker,” which continues to succeed today in providing valuable innovations to consumers for over 120 years.
