The History of Haribo Candy Products
It all began in 1920 when a German confectioner named Hans Riegel founded the “Haribo Company.” His goal was to create a product that children would love, and he found success with his unique and delicious gummy bear treats. The company quickly grew in popularity and, by 1922, sold its products throughout Germany.
In 1930, Hans Riegel debuted another popular product: Gold-Bears (or Goldbären). These treats were similar to the original gummy bears but featured different colours and flavours.
Today, Haribo Candy has expanded its product line even further with more than 200 varieties of candies ranging from gummi worms and coins to jelly babies and rainbow fruits.
Over the years, Haribo has become a cultural icon in many countries worldwide. From films like “Theodore Rex” to television shows like “The Simpsons,” Haribo has been referenced countless times. The brand has also spawned merchandise such as t-shirts and mugs for fans of all ages!
