About Fish N Canada
The origins of Fish N Canada can be traced back to the 1980s when a group of fishermen from Ontario approached a producer with their idea for a fishing show. The concept was simple – create a show that would appeal to novice anglers and experienced fishers alike while showcasing the beauty of the Canadian outdoors. The producer liked the idea and began production on what would become one of the longest-running shows in Canadian broadcast history.
Over its 33-year run, Fish N Canada has featured some top names in Canadian fishing. Each episode follows fishermen exploring various bodies of water across Canada, looking for that big catch that could make or break their day. Along the way, viewers get an up-close look at some of the most remote areas in our great country and tips on catching their trophy fish.
Fish N Canada has become so popular over its three decades on air because it celebrates everything Canadians love about outdoor life – adventure, camaraderie, and nature appreciation. Viewers tune in week after week for tips on fishing and stories about friendship and perseverance. Even non-fishers are drawn into each episode by the characters’ enthusiasm and optimism. It’s no wonder why Fish N Canada is considered one of the most beloved television shows in Canadian history!

My favorite episode is the one I was in when I was working on a work train in SIOUX LOOKOUT ONT. summer 2005! Pete, Angeio, & crew were locked in their motorhome at the local marina FNC 1 in tow!! While waiting for a locksmith, a buddy and I suggested we take their boat and fish the bay out front for big pike that are known to frequent the area! The locksmith arrived too soon……LOL!!
Loved the episode up in Georgian Bay and when you landed that first pike it reminded me of one my dad and I caught when i was about 10. I still have the pic of it and it seems like it was bigger then I was. Also really thought you have some kind of a boat man does that thing move. I can only dream of boats like that. Thanks for the thrill and the reminder of my dad.
