Mr. Sub’s first restaurant opened up in 1968. in Toronto, Canada.
In the early days, Mr. Subs’ stores had minimal decor as they were still setting up their standards and procedures for the business.
In 1969 they opened 4 more stores in Toronto. The first franchise store was opened in Mississauga, Ontario.
From 1969 to 1974, Mr. Subs rapidly developed recipes and procedures for preparing sandwiches for customers while maintaining quality product standards.
Mr. Subs has evolved from a single unit into a multi-unit franchise offering an upscale sandwich concept; new menu items such as salads and wraps; and parent company Freshii Inc., together with franchise partner MVP Holdings Ltd.
In 2011 Mr. Sub was purchased by the MTY Group, and now it has hundreds of locations across Canada.
