It all started back in 1928 with James Harvey, a pharmacist in Missouri who developed Tums in his basement while treating his wife’s indigestion, and his remedy caught on, and production began in the 1930s.
It was purchased by Revlon and eventually became GlaxoSmithKlein after a huge series of mergers. Today the same factory since 1930 still is the main manufacturing site for Tums.
