    About the Salvation Army Organization

The Salvation Army operated successful stores (Thrift). By using successful Thrift Stores, they can help others afford a better life. Recycling household goods, clothing, and more helps the environment and helps those with limited funds.

I know in our community, they do a massive share with the homeless and work with the women’s shelter and other organizations.

This international organization has helped many throughout the world for over 150 years. They do services in 125 different countries, with 1.8 million associates worldwide.

I love their motto, “Doing the Best!”

    How they help others

The Salvation Army’s mission is to assist those in need without discrimination. They provided in 130 countries and in 49 states and Washington, D.C. in the United States:

” The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach Jesus Christ’s gospel and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

They say they are devoted to worshiping God, serving people, preaching the Gospel, and helping those in need.

    Founder: William Booth

The founder of this organization was William Booth. He was born in Nottingham, England, on April 10, 1829. He started this organization in 1878.

William Booth said that one night, preaching the Gospel, he had a vision of great multitudes of people going to Hell because there were few Christians to tell them about Christ’s love. This touched his heart and made him want to do whatever he could to save them from going to Hell.

William Booth began preaching about Jesus’ love and salvation to the poor, hungry, homeless and addicted to alcohol or other things. He also started a home for women who were prostitutes because he wanted to help them get out of that lifestyle.
