I am a Starbucks addict; I drink it every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. With that being said, It does tend to get rather expensive quickly! How can I get my Starbucks to fix and not spend a fortune in the process? By making it at home, of course, by using copycat Starbucks recipes.
Starbucks is not my only addiction. I am addicted to certain foods and drinks as well, such as pretzels, chips and salsa, beef jerky, Dr. Pepper and of course – Starbucks coffee. When I started drinking coffee back in the early 2000s, I wasn’t much of a drinker. I would only have one cup for waking me up but never completely satisfied my taste for coffee. After years of trying different brands, flavours and locations to purchase this wonder drink, it took until 2006 before I gave Starbucks a chance by myself.
My first Starbucks location was at the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto, Canada. The very same year, I was hooked and began to drink coffee regularly. Now that I can sit down and think about it, I wonder why it took me so long – I love making Starbucks recipes.
I rarely go anywhere else but Starbucks for my coffee fix. Why would I? Their coffee is always fresh; they have a variety of flavours to choose from, the type of drink options, including hot chocolate, teas, and iced drinks, are out of this world. Their bakery section is top off the list, which includes muffins, cookies, and delicious cake pops. I enjoy going to Starbucks as it gives me a chance to relax and catch up with friends, sit there as long as needed, watch the people go by and participate in general chit chat.
As much as I love Starbucks and think that its quality of coffee is excellent, it does come at a price. If you purchase your coffee daily, let’s say 4 times a week equals approximately $1000 a year. With the prices of coffee going up, what used to cost you $16 per pound is now costing upwards of $20 per pound. I do not consider myself an extravagant coffee drinker, and I prefer my coffee with regular milk and sugar, not organic or flavoured. Below you will find lots of copycat Starbucks recipes to try out, and perhaps allow you to test your baking skills and blender perfection to get those cold drinks just right, or make delicious coffee and make a coffee cake.
I recently discovered how to make your iced coffees at home for much less than you would pay at Starbucks. I have included my recipe below so you can begin to save money today. It has been working for me, and it’s high time that you, too, follow in my footsteps, enjoying the same flavours I am!
