Before going to Hawaiian Liver Recipe, I wish to share my experience. I originally made this back in High School for Home Ec. Class. Years later, I can’t recall the recipe. Thank God for Google. I’ve made it a few times since High School, but I always just did it up “like a sweet-sour recipe”.
With vinegar brown sugar soya sauce, but today I decided to try and find an actual recipe for it.
I have a family of hunters, and the men wanted it done Hawaiian style.
Hawaiian Liver Recipe
The Secret to the Liver tasting good – is to cut it very thin. The thinner, the better.
This is the Recipe: I somewhat followed.
I cut up the huge liver into very thin pieces.
Hawaiian Liver Recipe ~ Change Up your Liver and Onions
A new twist to Liver. It’s a Hawaiian Twist with pineapples

Ingredients

- 1/2 Pound of Liver
- Soya Sauce 3/4 cup
- 1/3 Cup brown sugar
- 1 can of pineapple titbits ( keep juice aside)
- 1tbsp Pepper
- 1tbsp salt
- Vegetables – for color: green/red/yellow peppers, carrots,
- 1 –2TBSp Cornstarch
Instructions
- Cut up liver to be thin pieces ( The smaller the better)
- Marinate by adding the Soya Sauce, and the pineapple juice, salt and pepper for a minimum of 30 minutes. If you have lots of time: leave it over night.
- Take the liver out of the marinade ( but keep the marinade aside)
- Brown Liver in sauce pan
- Cook Vegetables and Pineapple titbits in marinade in a separate sauce pan.
- Add Cooked liver
- In separate small bowl or cup, take cornstarch and a few tbsp of water till evaporated.
- Add Cornstarch mixture to Liver/veggie/marinade mixture.
- Simmer for another 20 minutes, Stirring constantly
- Serve.
